VBX 100 is a high-quality, very cost-effective voice messaging andtelephone management solution for organizations with voice informationand telephone transaction requirements.VBX 100 supports multiple messaging ports in standard Sun386iconfigurations, and features an open application architecture, withpowerful new tools for programmers and non-programmers alike. It takesmaximum advantage of the UNIX multitasking application environment tooptimize system resources.VBX 100 is a one-port controller board that provides a hardware platformfor processing any voice messaging or telephone application. Undersoftware control, it captures voice and records it digitally onto thesystem disk for playback on demand. It also provides complex telephoneline control (local phone on/off hook, call progress monitoring, and DTMFdetection/generation).VBX 100 contains a digital signal processor, an array processor, a codec,2 Kwords of PROM, 8 Kwords of RAM, a telephone line interface, and astandard serial port. VBX 100 functions can be programmed at severallevels (hardware component, driver, programmer toolkit, and a high-levelgenerator) to help the developer satisfy the requirements of eachapplication.
